PRODUCT
We are committed to environmental responsibility and are on a journey towards minimizing our ecological footprint. We actively seek ways to be more eco-friendly throughout our operations. This includes reducing packaging, designing reusable products, and providing clear guidance on recycling.
We are also dedicated to using more sustainable and ethically sourced materials. From soy wax to certified organic cotton and FSC-certified paper, we are carefully evaluating every phase of our product lifecycle. We understand that sustainability is an ongoing journey of continuous improvement, and we hold ourselves accountable to lessening our impact on the Planet whilst protecting and empowering the People in our global supply chain. We see it as essential to developing a culture that reflects our purpose and responsibility.
REDUCE
We’re committed to improving the sustainability of our packaging across all our brands. Wherever possible, we prioritize materials that are reusable, recyclable, or compostable, and we’re actively working to phase out unnecessary single-use plastics
REUSE
When possible, we encourage our customers to reuse their products. This is especially true of our candle brands. Each Paddywax candle is made with a second life in mind, and you can bring in an empty candle vessel to any Paddywax Candle Bar location for a discounted refill! Find out how to reuse or repurpose your candle here.

RECYCLE
We have been diligently working to ensure that all of our product packaging is designed for easy recyclability. We are committed to making the recycling process as straightforward as possible for our customers by clearly communicating recycling instructions directly on the packaging itself. We are also actively working towards increasing our utilization of recycled materials, such as recycled PET plastic in our packaging and products certified to Global Recycling Standard. These initiatives support our transition towards more circular practices by reducing our use of virgin materials and improving the sustainability profile of our products.

BEAUTY WITHOUT BUNNIES
Designworks Collective reaffirms its long-standing commitment to never conduct or commission animal testing, consistent with Directive 2010/63/EU and the USA Animal Welfare Act by joining PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies Program.
This commitment extends to our entire supply chain. None of our cosmetic, toiletry, and cleaning products, including raw materials, undergo animal testing at any stage. To ensure this, we have a robust monitoring system for supplier approval based on their no animal testing status. All product development and replenishment must adhere to this principle, and we have procedures to address non-compliance.

USING SOY IN OUR CANDLES
Our candles are made of approximately 50% soy wax to help reduce our reliance on fossil fuels as soy is a renewable, natural, and biodegradable wax, making them a more environmentally friendly option. Using this specific blend of wax offers our customers a cleaner and longer burn, with less soot and smoke than paraffin candles, and tend to have a better scent throw.

FOREST SOURCING
Paper and packaging are our most widely purchased forest-based products, so ensuring they are sustainably sourced is crucial to protecting healthy, resilient forests. Forest Stewardship Council FSC® certification allows us to provide the responsible choices our customers want and demonstrates our commitment to sourcing from sustainable and legal forests worldwide. Buying FSC product ensures:
-
Zero deforestation - Although trees are harvested, there is no net loss of forest over time.
-
Environmental protection - FSC certification requires biodiversity to be maintained, and high conservation value areas like old growth forests to be protected.
-
Indigenous Peoples’ rights respected - FSC certification requires forest inhabitants to be consulted and engaged, and cultural rights to be maintained.
-
Fair wage and work environment for workers - FSC certification requires training, safety and decent wages for all workers.
RSPO PALM
We recognize that biodiversity loss, significantly driven by unsustainable palm oil production, is a critical global issue. While acknowledging the economic benefits of palm oil, we expect plantations to be sustainably managed to minimize biodiversity destruction and ensure fair employment practices. We collaborate and raise awareness with suppliers, partners, and other agencies, using our purchasing power to advance sustainable palm oil production.
We consider the Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) to be the leading authority on sustainable oil palm plantations, and we advocate for RSPO certification, or equivalent standards. By 2026, we commit to purchasing all applicable products containing palm oil to be RSPO certified.
